Tagung in Rom: Digital Approaches to Restorations and Philology. New Challenges in Music, Dance and Theatre

Am 11. und 12. Mai 2026 veranstaltet das Deutsche Historische Institut in Rom die Tagung „Digital Approaches to Restorations and Philology: New Challenges in Music, Dance and Theatre“.

Tagungsvorstellung:

In recent years, digital technologies have been increasingly used to study literary, musical and visual sources related to theatrical works seeking to recover the intangible aspects of performance and to virtually reconstruct performance spaces and/or practices.
The workshop aims to explore both methodological and practical challenges posed to scholars and practitioners by such undertakings.
Furthermore, it is intended as an opportunity to reflect on the hybrid nature of such works, on the technical skills and expertise potentially involved in their creation, on the intended recipients and on their usability within scientific and non-scientific contexts.
